The Marriott says that before you purchase weeks directly from
an owner or a
non-Marriott Reseller that you should be aware of
key differences in making that
purchase. They say, by not
purchasing directly from Marriott, you will:

1. Not be eligible for automatic Marriott
Rewards membership.
All
you have to do to join is call most any Marriott
and give them the needed information and you
will be mailed your temporary membership card.
2. Not be eligible to trade your weeks (in
non-consecutive use
years)
for Marriott Reward points.
This is true, however you can trade your weeks
for weeks around the world either in the Interval
International system or within the Marriott system.
3. Not be eligible for available purchase
bonuses and incentives.
Depending on the sales program going on, they
may give you a free trip anywhere and up to a
weeks stay at one of their luxury Resorts, along
with a few other minor valued benefits.
4. Not be eligible for Marriott 3, 5, 7 and
10 year financing options.
Who wants to have interest payments?? If you
have to, take out a small loan on your home.
So that's it !!!!! Are
these minor items worth the $5,000 to $10,000
or more that you will save by buying from a previous owner.
Heck, the main benefit is all of that cash saved when you DO NOT
buy from the developer. Add up the numbers for yourself.
You do not need to be an accountant to figure this one out.
