Maui has two large Resort coastlines that are filled with
many Resort Towns.
One coastline is known as 'West Maui', which is located on the western
side of the northern portion of Maui. Starting from the southern end of
this coastline area and going north the Resort Towns are: Lahaina, Kaanapali,
Honokawai, Kahana, Napili and Kapalua. These towns face the blue Pacific
Ocean and also look right at the island of Lanai.
The other coastline is also located on the western side of Maui, but on the
southern potion of the island. Again, starting from the southern end of this
this coastline area and going north the Resort Towns are: Makena, Wailea
and Kihei. These towns also face the blue Pacific Ocean and also have
views of the small Molokini Island.
The West Maui area has lots of golf courses if that is important to you. It is
also the location of the bustling shopping district (town) of Lahaina. Lahaina
was an old Whaling Village in days long ago
